The 5 Minute Mommy Makeover

The 5 Minute Mommy Makeover

Between cuddles, and kisses, dirty diapers and snotty noses, there just doesn’t seem to be enough time to get myself ready anymore. Even if the baby is asleep, there are so many other things that need to happen during that precious little break from “mommying”, amiright? So on days where my nap time “To-Do” list is ridiculously long, or that nap didn’t last as long as I had hoped, I do a quick little makeup application that I call my “Mommy Makeup”.

What I have found to be key here, aside from having my makeup organized, is to limit the number of products used and only open each product once. Make the products in your makeup bag work double duty on those days you’re working overtime. So here you go… The 5 Minute Mommy Makeover.

What I used:

  • Foundation: MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof in NC25
  • Eyeliner: NYC in Jet Black
  • Contour: MAC Eye Shadow in Wedge
  • Highlighter: Benefit Watt’s Up
  • Bronzer: Tarte in Hotel Heiress
  • Mascara: Maybelline Colossal Volume Express in Classic Black
  • Chapstick: Jack Black

Step One.

Apply foundation (and concealer as needed) to your entire face including your eyelids. Putting foundation on your eyelids will help your eyeshadow to stick better. I highly suggest getting a Beauty Blender sponge to apply your foundation. It blends it so well with minimal time and effort.

Step Two.

I know this seems so out of order but I swear this makes for way faster eyeliner. So after you finish blending your concealer apply your eyeliner. I like to focus on the outside corners of my eyes to make more of a cat-eye shape. And the great thing about doing this now is it doesn’t have to be perfect so do not spend a ton of time making sure the lines are right. We are going to smudge this in really well later to get a more natural look.

Step Three.

Using an angled brush, apply a contour color on your eyelid using a windshield wiper motion. Also use the same brush and color right under your cheekbones, the sides and top of your forehead, and down the sides of your nose.

Step Four.

Grab your highlighter – I love Benefit Watts Up – and blot it right at the tops of your cheekbone, the top of your brow bone, the very tip of your lip, and down the middle of your nose.

Step Five.

Use a smaller eyeshadow brush and your bronzer and apply the bronzer to your eyelid. Blend it from the eyeliner up and really smudge in that eyeliner.

Step Six.

Smudge the eyeliner on the lower lid using bronzer and a really tiny brush. Mine is actually a lip brush. Then with whatever excess liner/bronzer that is hanging around on the brush, darken up your brows a tad.

Step Seven.

Using your blush brush, apply a tad bit of bronzer in between your contour and highlight color on your cheeks. Then apply a little on the top of your forehead. Just remember, when it comes to bronzer, a little goes a long way!

Step Eight.

Finish everything off with a coat of mascara and chapstick! I always opt for chapstick over lipgloss so I am free to kiss all over that sweet baby of mine.

And that’s it! So simple and quick but I promise you’ll still feel gorgeous while chasing around that babe. Oh and if you love this necklace I am wearing, it’s mum and bub approved and can be found here! XO!
